1.The number 1 factor that led to the genocide was the death of Juvenal Habyarimana. He was the Rwanda president and also a Hutu. He was in a plane and it was shot down on April 6 over the Kigali Airport. The person who shot him down was also a Hutu.
2.The time frame of this chaos happened during April and June. Around 800,000 people were killed on 100 days. That is like 8,000 people getting killed in one day. It is crazy because so many innocent people died for something that only a couple people can do.
3.That genocide was Africa`s largest in modern times. Another after effect is families and many that were not killed who probably saw some things have to now live with that for the rest of their lives. Finally the last thing I have to say is I hope that the person who did this feels ashamed of him or herself and learned from this gigantic mistake.
